Artist's Comments

.. Second version. Four paralel lines of three negs, in theory they fit together, but the ground was not flat so moving inbetween the shots got a bit uneven. This one may be better for the soul. Will continue a for a while in this style I think...

This is version one of this image, slightly more disturbing maybe.. :-) [link]

Thanks for comment :-)

.. this is the not so subtle version [link] :-)

Yes, it reminds me very much of a japanese watercolour painting... or something of the like. I love the greens, and the image as a whole!

What I said on the other version still stands. There's something jarring about the organization here. THe use of white is very awesome, as well. It's all clean and pure while the photos are grainy and murky and grey. THe colors are more effective here I think. The saturation almost pushes the unreality of it further, ironically, sense you tend to see that look in more "family friendly" things, that are supposed to be happy and color full. Here, that powerful green, just decays the white, like mold or something. I'm still not feeling teh soul pulling, but I think my ear is bleeding or something. Getting closer!!!

..got a bit delayed.

Yes, I think you got it there. I would if I had time work in black and white only, and print the pictures properly. But do not like the result I get when using scan from negatives, maybe if I worked on it...

Do not have time so are using colors, result is a that one balance on that "family friendly", bedroom decoration, chockolate box thingy. All the things that are nasty in this world :D . Are maybe working away from this by the multiple negatives, the jagged´ness of it, but have to consider...

This multiple panels are a bit like panels / screen paintings, which also to some degree has been copied by the "family friendly" industry.

What I want is the ur feeling of trees ref. lord of the rings, and so on. mixed with whatever I can come up with while doing it, while playing around with photography. A massive composition, sometimes minimalism, sometimes exploring chaos.. well whatever comes up.

Thanks for comment. Yes it is closer, but will have to work a bit more ...

It is closer, but is it ever really? Isn't art the eternal sketch of the ideal that is never realized? :D I deffinitely see the screen painting effect in it. And what's interesting is that if the images did match perfectly, and the blacks ran together uninterrupted, this would have an almost mosaic effect. You wouldn't immediately see the tree branches, but the shapes tha the tree branches make.

You are rather preoccupied with trees vs. city themed works. Either it's just trees, just city, or the two interacting. Whether its a personal pursuit or just what is available, I don't know. Though there seems to be a running theme in Japanese culture of nature vs. industry.

no, will probably never finish :-)

I is difficult to get good matches between images, I can try harder, but are afraid of getting too perfectionist. Won´t get anything done :-)

Have been doing trees for a long time :-) They easy to work with, don´t talk to much, stand still without complaining and so on :-) Right now it is of course also that this is all done within 30 min of walking from where I live.

Are planning a daylight shot...
